HOW IT IS DONE:

Decorative Image
1

Cover the work area and prepare the materials.

Decorative Image
2

Tape the painter's tape horizontally across the canvas along a one-third line to mark the future white dividing line between the sea and the beach.

Decorative Image
3

Pour the texturing paste into a bowl.

Decorative Image
4

Mix the texturing paste with the yellow and brown acrylic paint to achieve the desired sand color.

Decorative Image
5

Apply the colored paste to the lower part of the canvas using a painting knife, and create texture with sweeping strokes—this will form sand dunes and flatter areas in the sand.

6

In a second bowl, color the texturing paste with medium blue and a little dark blue.

Decorative Image
7

Apply half of the blue paste to the center of the canvas.

Decorative Image
8

Add a little more dark blue to the remaining texture paste in the bowl, mix it in, and apply it to the lower part of the picture.

Decorative Image
9

Blend the light blue and slightly darker textured paste areas together.

Decorative Image
10

Peel off the painter's tape before the paste dries—it will leave a clean white line.

Decorative Image
11

Once dry, lightly sketch the desired details (umbrellas, figures, boat) with a pencil.

Decorative Image
12

Paint in the details using a fine brush and acrylic paint, then let them dry.
