HOW IT IS DONE:

Decorative Image
1

Lay out all the materials and cover the work surface to protect the surrounding area from paint. Make sure the glass panes are clean and dry.

Decorative Image
2

You can use any motif as a template. You can print out the coloring template or draw it yourself. If you are drawing the template yourself, trace the outlines of the glass panes onto the paper.

Decorative Image
3

Then, draw shapes using a ruler and compass or freehand.

Decorative Image
4

Place the coloring page under the first pane of glass and secure it with tape, if necessary. During the coloring process, leave approximately 1 cm of space at the bottom of the glass (the same amount that the glass protrudes into the wooden stand) free of paint.

5

Use black contour paint to paint the contours and allow them to dry for one to two hours.

Decorative Image
6

Then, use the various Window Color shades to fill in the outlines.

Decorative Image
7

Fill in the contours completely by applying the paint directly from the bottle.

8

Allow the paint to dry thoroughly (preferably overnight). Then insert the glass panes into the wooden stands and your suncatchers are ready!

TIPS & TRICKS
  • If you ever want to change your suncatcher's design, simply peel the Window Color image off the glass and create a new one.
