HOW IT IS DONE:

Decorative Image
1

Cover the work surface and prepare all materials. If possible, wash the pencil case before decorating (without fabric softener). This removes the fabric finish and helps the Marabu Textil Painter adhere better to the fabric. After fixing, the finished design will also be washable.

2

For thinner fabrics, place a piece of cardboard inside the pencil case to prevent the paint from bleeding through to the other side.

If desired, lightly sketch the design using a pencil or a water-soluble fabric marker.

Draw the outlines of the motifs with the Marabu Textil Painter.

Fill in the motifs with color. For an even and vibrant result, apply a second coat after the first layer has dried.

Decorate the pencil case with different patterns, shapes, or illustrations as desired.

Allow the painted pencil case to dry completely.

To fix the design, cover the painted area with a pressing cloth or tea towel. Set the iron to a medium temperature (cotton setting, no steam) and iron the design from the reverse side or through the cloth for approximately 2–3 minutes.

Alternative: Fix the design in the oven for 8 minutes at 150°C

Once fixed, the colors become washable up to 60°C.
