HOME DECOR WITH MARABU SQUEEGEE ART PASTEL.

The squeegee-style technique creates unique color gradients in delicate pastel shades. White botanical designs add modern accents and give the wooden paintings a natural look.

HOW IT IS DONE:

In the first step, individual dots are applied to the wood using the liners.

Next, use the squeegee to smooth the dots over the wood, applying light pressure. Important: Untreated wood is very absorbent, so it’s best to apply a little extra paint. Alternatively, you can prime the wood with white paint first.

Clean the squeegee thoroughly after each stroke.

This allows you to apply different colors as desired, which can also be layered on top of each other to create special effects.

Once they're dry, you can embellish these little works of art with floral lines. The permanent marker included in the set works well for this, or—as shown in the example—the white YONO marker.

TIPS & TRICKS
  • Before using the YONO Marker for the first time, shake it with the cap on for 60 seconds and gently press the tip several times against a piece of paper to activate the ink flow. Once the tip is fully saturated with ink, test the marker on a piece of paper before using it to decorate your notebook.
