WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME?

In my free time, I like to play soccer, go to the movies, and spend a lot of time with friends and family.

WHAT WAS YOUR PATH BEFORE MARABU?

Before my apprenticeship at Marabu, I attended middle school and completed a Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, where I ran programs with children, cared for animals, and printed T-shirts for the summer camp kids.

HOW DID YOU FIRST HEAR ABOUT THE APPRENTICESHIP?

I first learned about the screen printing media technician training program at the Vocational Training Fair in Ludwigsburg (BAM), where I heard about this profession for the first time. I had already heard about screen printing during my FÖJ.

HAD YOU ALREADY DONE AN INTERNSHIP IN THIS FIELD BEFORE?

No, I hadn’t done an internship in this field before, but I did have a trial day at Marabu.

HOW DID THE APPLICATION PROCESS GO?

I had an interview with my current trainer, the former head of the department, and HR. Everyone was very nice and made me feel at ease right from the start. The interview was very relaxed. That was good, because I was a little nervous. After the trial day, I received an offer relatively quickly.

DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR INTERESTED CANDIDATES?

I recommend that interested candidates complete a one-week internship to get a taste of the profession and gain a good insight into it.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO DO AN APPRENTICESHIP AT MARABU?

I felt at home at Marabu right from the start. Plus, I was really interested in the apprenticeship and the company.

WHAT MAKES MARABU SPECIAL AS A TRAINING COMPANY?

Marabu is special because it’s not just a production facility—it’s also a place where we develop and test a lot of products. That’s why Marabu is highly regarded as a training company in schools. Plus, it’s unique that we have two divisions: printing inks and creative paints.

WHAT TASKS DO YOU PERFORM DURING YOUR TRAINING?

During my training, I process orders, test different inks on various materials, help find solutions for customers, and test new developments and formula changes.

IS THERE A PARTICULAR EVENT FROM YOUR APPRENTICESHIP THAT YOU’D LIKE TO SHARE?

Two things that have particularly stuck with me so far are a client visit where I got to learn about the processes at another company, and the Creative World trade show in Frankfurt, where we trainees helped with the hospitality.HOW BIG IS THE TEAM YOU WORK IN? DESCRIBE THE COLLABORATION IN THREE WORDS?

My team consists of ten people, and the teamwork is communicative, friendly, and helpful.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE APPRENTICESHIP IN THREE WORDS?

I would describe the training as varied, interesting, and colorful.

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER THE APPRENTICESHIP?

First of all, I’d like to successfully complete my training, of course, and then stay at Marabu.

IF YOU WERE A MARABU COLOR, WHAT COLOR WOULD YOU BE?

If I were a Marabu color, I’d be MaraGlow.
