Stunning canvas frame duo
The stunning canvas frame impress with their texture and clarity. This composition of acrylic paint and modelling paste is easy to achieve with a toothed trowel. Stunningly perfect!
How it is done:
Paint the two inside areas of the canvas frames, one in Cherry Red and one in Light Grey (maybe darkened with a little Black). Towards the edges, apply the colour so it is not fully opaque (use a dry brush with little paint, dabbing any excess paint onto a piece of paper beforehand), letting the canvas show through in the areas near the edges.
Paint the outside edges of the canvas frames in Black. Use a little black paint (dry brush, see step 1) to swipe some paint onto the outside areas of the paintings. The transitions between black and grey or black and red should be soft and irregular.
Use a spatula to apply the modelling paste on the left side of the red painting, about 5 cm wide and 0.5 cm thick. Daub accents into the paste with the Acrylic Effects Liner.
Then press the toothed trowel into the wet paste parallel to the left edge of the painting and create half or quarter circles in the paste. On the grey painting, apply the modelling paste to the top and pull down vertically with the toothed trowel. Apply some more paste to the bottom and create a half circle. Finally splash a few spatters of Orange, Dark Violet and Metallic Rose Pink onto the two paintings (make sure to protect the surrounding area first).
Leave to dry for approx. 1 day until the paste has fully cured.
